Foster Homes Increase our Capacity-Virtually!
If you have a deep love of animals, perhaps becoming a foster home provider might be the
best way to help. By becoming a foster home provider, you will provide temporary love and care to an animal from our shelter until it
is adopted. Foster homes increase the number of animals that our shelter can care for and remove a highly adoptable animal from the stressful
shelter environment.
If you are a dog lover or a cat connoisseur, providing a temporary home for one of our furry friends might just be
the greatest gift you could give a shelter pet!
Volunteer Feline Rescue Coordinator Give Our Cats a Second Chance!
This position largely involves working from your computer and contacting feline rescues for their space availability,
forwarding them pictures and descriptions of our cats and kittens who need to go to a rescue when our shelter is full
or nearly full, and arranging with our Transport Coordinator to get our cats to the rescue.
The pictures and descriptions are sent to you by our Shelter Manager or Staff.
We have compiled a list of verified rescues and we are fortunate to have drivers who will transport our animals to the
rescues. If you would be willing to help with this very important position, please contact our shelter today.
Animal Transporters Give our pets a lift!
The Animal Lovers Assistance League needs safe and reliable drivers to transport our pets to adoption events, Vet appointments as well as
drivers to transport animals to rescue groups in different areas. If you have some free time and like to drive, this might be the opportunity
for you to help!
Drivers must be over the age of 18 with a reliable car, a safe driving history and have a valid drivers license,
auto insurance and a working air conditioner in the summer months.
Guardian Donors Help Us Every Month
With this easy option, you are taking a stand for a community that is more humane and compassionate for the animals in Currituck County.
For just $15.00 each month, you can help us reach that goal.
A modern animal shelter must meet the day to day expenses just as any private business and constant support from the community we serve is critical.
When kind citizens step forward to do their part, our entire community enjoys the benefits of the increased services that we are able to offer.
When your become an Animal Guardian Supporter, your monthly donation of $15.00 will assist us in providing many of the needs that our shelter has all year.
Modern animal shelters require electric power, water, sewer and disposal services and these services are not offered at a discount. Our shelter must
also buy bleach for cleaning and disinfecting, mops, brooms, office supplies and a whole host of other supplies that we require just to open for business.
As a Guardian Supporter, your donation of just .50 cents per day will help assure that our shelter will be able to meet the needs of our growing community.
Shelter Helpers Help Our Staff-Help the Animals
A modern animal shelter cannot be automated-it requires the time, effort and compassion of animal lovers to care for all of the wonderful pets that
require care every day.
If you have only a few hours each month, every week or more free time, please consider spending some of your
time helping our shelter care for the animals and the Animal Lovers Assistance League as we work for a more humane, animal friendly Currituck County.
You will be helping a good cause and making some new friends who will appreciate your help. Please be assured, the shelter staff or the Animal Lovers Assistance League
will not ask you to do any job that you are not comfortable performing. Please give us a call or stop by to discuss what your interests are and we would be
happy to meet with you!
